Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), also known as Blockchain Technology, provides a way to share data in a tamper-proof and decentralized fashion and has taken the world by storm over the past several years. While it became famous through its first manifestation, the peer-to-peer electronic cash system Bitcoin, its use cases reach far beyond the cryptocurrency markets. Consequently, despite the end of the crypto hype in 2018, experts still see DLT as one of the major transformative technologies of our time with the potential to shape the economic infrastructure of the future.
In this live webinar, Prof. Dr. Alexander Braun (Member of the Executive Board I.VW-HSG) will provide a nontechnical introduction to the topic, including the key building blocks of DLT, the difference between public and permissioned blockchains, the concept of smart contracts, and a critical reflection. In addition, Prof. Braun will iterate on promising applications beyond crypto assets. After the 20-minute presentation, there will be an interactive Q&A session to discuss your questions.
The webinar will take place in English.
